The internet is filled with tips on how to manage anxiety and OCD amid a pandemic. There is so much information that it’s overwhelming. Oh, the irony!
Managing social media is the key. It is the ticket to managing health and wellness as we navigate this pandemic together. News is important and changes daily, but that does not mean one has to be glued to their device. Here are some practical tips:
- Unfollow any sources of information that are not credible.
- Do you really need to follow 7 news networks? Didn’t think so. Pick two and unfollow the rest.
- When you have feelings of FOMO (Fear of missing out), remember that they’re all reporting the same thing anyway!
- Time limit: 15 minutes per day of one of the following: T.V., Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook. I see those eye rolls and I know there’s no way a 15 minute media rule will be followed. Cut it down. Significantly.
Absolutely NO PHONES before bed.
