OCD Treatment Stories

From Hopeless to Hopeful

Our therapist Shaina recently worked with a young adult who had been experiencing OCD since childhood and were now experiencing intense, violent intrusive thoughts. We used ERP to identify their core fear and build a plan tailored to their goals. From sleepless nights to sleeping through the night; slipping grades to finding pride in their academic work; overwhelmed and exhausted to confidence and increased self-value they learned to trust their ability to handle uncertainty and reclaim their life.

Does Online Therapy Work in Saskatchewan?

Effective therapy isn’t about where you are — it’s about having the right support.

When the drive to the nearest health care practitioner can take hours roundtrip, it might be time for online therapy which is just as effective as in-person sessions. Especially for evidence-based treatments like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD.

If you don’t have an OCD specialist near you, online therapy is your best treatment option.

OCD is more than preferring organization or being overly tidy. It’s a serious mental health issue that can affect other areas of your life.

Saskatchewan has the highest rates of mood and anxiety disorders in Canada, yet access to mental health care remains a crisis — especially for youth.

With only 7.4 psychiatrists per 100,000 residents, there has been a struggle to attract and retain mental health professionals, leaving families with limited options.

Whether you’re a busy parent in Regina supporting a child with OCD, living in a remote northern community without access to in-person care, or juggling life on the farm, our online therapy, exclusively focused on OCD, removes barriers and makes specialized treatment accessible no matter where you are.

No matter where you are in the province, OCD North brings expert OCD treatment directly to you — ensuring you receive the care you need without the burden of long-distance travel.
