Does Online Therapy Work For Islanders?

For some, attending therapy in person can be a valuable part of the healing process. The time spent traveling to appointments often provides opportunities for reflection and preparation. But what if there aren’t enough OCD specialists in your area?

While Prince Edward Island is working to improve mental health care, it still faces challenges such as long wait times and gaps in specialized treatment. Mental health services are often spread thin, leaving many Islanders without the support they need.

Unfortunately, OCD often goes misdiagnosed, and rural areas like Prince Edward Island are frequently overlooked in the larger healthcare system.

But here’s the thing: effective therapy isn’t about your location; it’s about having the right kind of support. Research consistently shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person care, particularly for evidence-based treatments like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD.

Whether you’re a parent in Charlottetown supporting a child with OCD, living in a rural area with limited mental health resources, or simply in need of the flexibility of virtual care, our online therapy focused exclusively on OCD removes barriers and makes specialized treatment accessible wherever you are in Prince Edward Island.

OCD North brings expert OCD treatment directly to you, no matter where you are in the province.
Get the care you need, all from the comfort of home.
