Get expert, virtual treatment from our licensed therapists from the comfort of home from the only licensed Newfoundland clinic focused exclusively on OCD treatment.

OCD North provides expert care for individuals struggling with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) throughout Canada. Our virtual clinic offers specialized treatment options tailored to kids, teens, and adults, ensuring personalized care that meets each patient’s unique needs in any province.
Effective therapy isn’t about where you are — it’s about having the right support.
When the nearest mental health provider is hours away, and long wait times for specialized care make in-person treatment nearly impossible, virtual therapy becomes the best option.
Online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions, especially for evidence-based treatments like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD — the gold standard in OCD treatment.
OCD is more than just liking things a certain way or being particularly organized — it’s a serious mental health condition that can affect work, school, and family life. [Untreated it can lead to worse mental health and potentially even substance use.]
Yet, despite the need for specialized treatment, Newfoundland and Labrador has some of the longest wait times for mental health services in Canada. While the Stepped Care 2.0 model has improved access to low-intensity care, it hasn’t shortened wait times for the specialized OCD treatment provided by psychologists and psychiatrists.
Whether you’re a parent in St. John’s trying to support a child with OCD, living in a coastal or rural community where specialized care is hard to find, or dealing with daily stress while managing work, our online therapy — exclusively focused on OCD — removes barriers and makes specialized treatment accessible wherever you are.
No matter where you live in Newfoundland and Labrador, OCD North brings expert OCD treatment directly to you — so you can receive the care you need without long wait times or difficult travel.
Our therapist Erin recently worked with a family drawing on each other’s fears. The two siblings were absorbing their parents’ fears about something happening to them (the kids). When separated, the children felt extremely distressed and withdrew from activities old and new. They also began calling the parents asking to be picked up early from school every day. Through a custom ERP program for the children and a SPACE program for the parents, both siblings were able to overcome their fear. The children returned to school and are having fun once again engaging in extracurricular activities. The parents have overcome their own fears and understand how they can affect the children.
Our therapist Erin recently worked with a retired medical professional with a long time OCD diagnosis but who had never done ERP treatment. This retiree was experiencing intrusive thoughts around germs and contamination along with a need for everything to be arranged just so. Symptoms aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Unable to enjoy retirement, Erin created a treatment plan to help this person understand how exposures work and how to lean into the fear. Instead of spending retirement cleaning and arranging, this individual is enjoying tai chi, gardening, and travel.
Our therapist Erin recently worked with a young professional navigating entering the workforce while struggling with taboo and distressing intrusive thoughts. Thoughts questioning their sexual orientation, doubts about their partner, and intrusive fears around suicide were triggering overwhelming mental compulsions and creating intense shame. Through a personalized ERP program we worked together to help them face their fears and reduce compulsions. With time, effort, and courage they began to feel more confident in their identity, at ease in their relationship and ready to reclaim their future at full speed.
