OCD-Informed Counselling at OCD North

We’re proud to offer OCD-Informed Counselling as a viable, cost effective supplement to Exposure and Response Prevention.  OCD-Informed Counselling provides supportive counselling to individuals, teens, and kids who may not be ready to face the OCD fear, or experience comorbid conditions that prevent ERP to be used effectively.

Why OCD-Informed Counselling?

Individuals living with OCD are often living with other mental health or addiction concerns that can interfere with ERP, making the ERP process more difficult than it should be.  OCD-Informed Counselling at OCD North is designed to help clients overcome the barrier between where they are now, and overcoming OCD.  In practice, our social workers have helped clients:

Benefits of OCD-Informed Counselling:

Better than Talk therapy: More effective than talk therapy, but not a replacement for ERP, OCD-Informed Counselling supports the therapist who supports individuals living with OCD, but do not wish to become an OCD expert

Tools and Strategies: Equips clients with readiness skills to engage in ERP, or at bare minimum, provides support without exacerbating OCD symptoms.
