Intensive ERP Therapy For OCD

A focused, structured approach to help you break out of the OCD cycle, with expert support.

OCD can take over your time, your energy, and your ability to live your life, until everything starts to revolve around it. When it feels constant or all consuming, weekly therapy can start to feel too slow, especially when OCD feels relentless.

Many of the people we work with come to us after trying multiple approaches, including ERP, and feeling like they’re still stuck.

If you’ve tried therapy before (even ERP) and still feel stuck, or like nothing is really shifting, you’re not alone. Often, it’s not about trying harder. It’s about having the right structure, frequency, and real-time support, especially when OCD is loudest.

Our intensive ERP program is designed to help you build momentum, stay engaged, and begin changing your relationship with OCD in a meaningful way.

What is Intensive Treatment?

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the most effective, evidence-based treatment for OCD.

Intensive ERP means doing this work more frequently, with more structure, and with closer support from your therapist. Instead of once-weekly sessions, you’ll engage in consistent, structured therapy over a shorter period of time.

This helps you:

Clients often tell us that having support in real time, instead of trying to apply ERP on their own between sessions is what helps things start to shift.

We move at a pace that challenges OCD while making sure you feel supported enough to stay engaged in the process.

How our Intensive ERP program works

Your treatment is tailored to you from the very beginning.

Step 1: Understand your OCD

We start with a comprehensive assessment to understand your symptoms, your history, and what’s been keeping OCD stuck in place.

Step 2: Build your plan

Together, we create a structured treatment plan based on your goals so you have a clear, structured path forward.

Step 3: Do the work, with support

You’ll begin intensive ERP sessions where your therapist works alongside you in real time, helping you face fears and begin resisting compulsions step by step, in the moments it matters most.

What Your Program Includes

This level of structure and support is especially helpful if you’ve found it hard to stay consistent or make progress between weekly sessions. This structure is designed to give you enough support and repetition to start creating real change.

  • 3 hours of OCD assessment
  • Nurse Practitioner consultation
  • 10 x 90-minute ERP sessions over 2 consecutive weeks
  • 5 monthly booster sessions to support ongoing progress
  • Guided exposure exercises with therapist support
  • Clear strategies to practice between sessions
  • Ongoing adjustments based on your progress

Sessions may take place in-clinic, virtually, or in real-world settings depending on what will support you best.

You’re supported throughout the entire process, so you’re never left to figure this out on your own.

Who is a Candidate for Intensive ERP?

Intensive ERP may be a good fit if:
  • OCD is significantly impacting your daily life
  • You feel stuck or have plateaued in therapy
  • You’re spending a lot of time in compulsions or rituals
  • Previous treatment hasn’t led to the progress you hoped for
  • You want a more focused, structured approach
  • You’re ready to actively work on exposures
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. We’ll meet you where you are, without judgment.

What Makes OCD North Different?

We specialize exclusively in OCD.

Many of our clients have worked with multiple providers before coming to OCD North. What’s often been missing is consistent, OCD-specific support during the moments when it actually matters.

That means your care is

Delivered by therapists specifically trained in ERP

Focused on the patterns and fear that actually maintain OCD

Grounded in evidence-based treatment

We don’t just talk about ERP: we guide you through it and do it with you, in real time, when OCD is actually showing up.

You’ll have support in the moments that matter most: when OCD shows up and asks you to respond. That’s where real change happens.

What Progress Can Look Like

Clients often describe this as a gradual shift: where OCD feels less in control, even if it hasn’t disappeared. ERP isn’t about getting rid of thoughts. It’s about changing how you respond to them. That shift doesn’t happen all at once, it happens through repeated practice.

With consistent practice and support, many clients begin to:

  • Spend less time caught in compulsions and rumination
  • Feel more able to tolerate uncertainty and discomfort
  • Experience less urgency around intrusive thoughts
  • Reconnect with parts of life that OCD had taken over

Progress can feel challenging at first, especially if you’ve been stuck for a long time. That’s part of the process. With the right support, meaningful change is possible.

Flexible, Supportive Care

We offer Intensive ERP both in-person and virtually, depending on your needs and location.
We’ll work with you to find a structure that supports your progress while still fitting into your life.
